Forums are better than blog’s when it comes to doing it part time.
I also did mention something similar in the post
At that time I thought of going for a blog but as blogging was something relatively new and I managed to understand that it is something where you constantly need to write and I was not sure if I could do that along with my job and so I decided to go with sharing my articles online.
The important part in that paragraph is At that time because blogging was something very very new back in 2004. Blog Or Forum comparison I have already done but today we will do further comparison of blog Vs forum with respect to building an online business when you still have a full time job and can only work on your business for very small amount of time.
My vote will always go with Blog because?
1. Blogs are much easier to Manage
Forums are great resource for user generated content but there are 2 sides of every coin. The flip side of it is that you have to be doing lot of work to keep the Human spammer’s out and make sure user post in the right forum with the right formatting.
2. You don’t always need to be blogging
You can blog when you have the time and you don’t need to be blogging all the time (which was a misconception for me back in 2004). I normally blog once per week on my finance blog and this is when I am a full time online entrepreneur.
3. Great plug-ins are available for blogs
Plug-in’s for forums are easily outnumbered by plug-ins for blogs. You can easily automate lots of things for your blogs which I am sure is almost impossible for forums.
